Backflow – it’s the public water threat no one is talking about. State-level legislation is increasingly weakening installation and testing standards for backflow prevention, compromising potable water safety and creating confusion around accountability.
This educational session is based on homeowner research conducted by Watts and is designed to help professionals improve public understanding and support for backflow prevention programs.
In this session attendees will learn to:
- Identify the challenges of explaining backflow prevention & the risks of low public awareness
- Understand what homeowners know about backflow & what educational opportunities exist
- Develop strategies to improve backflow prevention education for today’s homeowners
- Utilize new tools to increase awareness of backflow risks and promote prevention practices
